Complete Care from Start to Finish: The TOR Concept
Our unique Training – Operation – Rehabilitation (TOR) model offers a full-circle approach to recovery. From your first visit to your last follow-up, every stage of your journey is carefully planned and professionally supported.
What is the TOR Concept?
At Stockholm Hernia Center , we don’t just perform surgery – we have developed the TOR concept to provide a complete treatment process. TOR stands for:
Training
Pre-surgical preparation to strengthen your core, reduce surgical risk, and promote faster healing.
Operation
Expert surgery individualized for your anatomy, lifestyle, and goals - using safe, proven techniques based on evidence and thorough experience.
Rehabilitation
Personalized rehabilitation program with gradually increasing exercises guided by a personal coach for a safe return to full activity.
Why TOR Matters
Most clinics focus only on the operation. We believe optimal results come from preparing patients physically, guiding them through the operation, and supporting them post-op with dedicated care.
Benefits of TOR
- Better prepared for surgery
- Smoother surgical procedure
- Reduced risk for complications
- Faster postoperative recovery
- Optimal rehabilitation

Who It’s For
Whether you’re a new mom with rectus diastasis, an athlete with a hernia, or a working professional needing to return quickly—TOR gives you the structure and support to get back to what matters most.
The History and Science behind TOR
We developed the TOR concept to offer an optimal treatment process for our rectus diastasis patients. The TOR regime is based on a combined clinical experience of 50+ years and our own clinical trials. The result of the TOR concept was evaluated in a scientific study, published in British Journal of Surgery Open 2023.
